How to Hear God's Voice for Ministry
This week, as we continued our discussions on How to Hear God’s Voice, we had some awesome testimonies of what God is doing through Cross Walk Life ministry today! Christa, my assistant, shared her first time experience to witness a demon manifesting during deliverance during Restoration Prayer Ministry. (Because we do such a good job of “sweeping the house out” and tearing down strongholds, as in Luke 11, our deliverances are usually less eventful.)

Luke 11:24-26 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' 25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."
It was time for the demon to
go and it began to speak out loud through
the person saying, “I don’t want to go! Where
am I going to go?” |

She literally could see the demon trembling at the name of Jesus! The demon was disgusted by the mention of the Blood of the Lamb! What power! She testified, “There is no reason to fear the enemy. He was defeated! Jesus stripped him of all power at the cross!!!” After the demon refused to leave several times, it was threatened to be hugged out! One person stood on each side of the person and hugged them with pure love until the demon couldn’t take it any more and fled! This is the “normal Christian life” and there’s nothing boring about it! Another person testified about their open vision with Jesus. During Restoration Prayer Ministry, they had gained the faith to believe, “If you just ask Jesus to show up and talk that He really will!” And He did, for an hour and a half! He healed hurts and gave hope. He imparted vision for the future and encouraged for the present. He even gave strength for forgiveness that was long over-due. In their own words, it was a complete surrender to the LORD, a willingness to allow Him to move and do whatever He wants. [You could feel the presence of God become so thick, that there was no escaping it and we were all in tears!] After Jesus had come down to visit them, He took them up to visit with Him! They walked through heaven together and testified of streets of gold, talking fish, dancing trees, beautiful jewels and total praise! During the teaching on “How to Hear God’s Voice, Carlotta shared that the Bible is not meant to be just a history book on what God used to do. Christianity is studying the word in order to learn what Jesus wants to do through us now! The Bible says signs and wonders will follow those who believe and we call ourselves believers. Are we? These supernatural experiences should not be “un natural” because we are primarily spiritual creatures. In Dr. Mark Virkler’s book, How to Hear God’s Voice, he explains the difference between the written word of God (logos) and the spoken word of God (Rhema). Many scriptures talk of the Rhema knowing, but we interpret them as head knowledge of God’s word. Logos is the written Word of God and can be understood in our spiritual man vs. our natural mind Rhema, is the spoken Word of God, when Holy Spirit breathes life into your heart. It’s important that we learn to study the Bible Spirit to spirit. That’s where the power is. We must allow God’s Spirit to flow freely through His Word to our spirit. Making it filter through our brain can be like a clogged drain that slows down revelation. We can open up our spirit to receive by fixing our heart and on Jesus, fixing our eyes on our King. Then we are connected to receive anointed flow. When we focus on loving Jesus and Jesus loving through us, we are properly positioned to have the mighty river of God flow right on through our hearts to the broken hearts of others. Our discussion went to how to hear God’s voice regarding roots and blocks in people’s lives so they can be healed and delivered. Hearing God’s voice enables us to hear words of knowledge and expose the devil’s strategy to intimidate believers Christ with rejection, trauma, deception, abandonment, abuse, criticism, confusion, etc. Once exposed, the lies can be renounced and replaced with Godly beliefs based on God’s Truths. Then we can declare and decree God’s Truth – Rhema Words for us – for 40 days like Jesus did. Hearing, receiving and declaring God’s Rhema Words over ourselves will transform us by the renewing of our minds as in Romans 12:1-2.
